Q. The Giants live by the blitz; how do you feel like you guys have done over the course of the season when you’ve faced teams that blitz? (Chris Franklin)

SHANE STEICHEN: I think with anything you’ve always got to have a plan for those things. They’re one of the highest blitz rates in the league, the Giants are, so we’re working through that right now. We have to have answers for everything they do. This is a good defensive front, and we have to be ready.

Division opponent, I say this a lot, but the division games are so big. They’re so big. If you want to win championships, you have to win the division.

It’s going to be a heck of a challenge for us going into MetLife, but we’re excited for it.

Q. Are you aware you were the first team to go 350 yards on the ground and then 350 plus yards in the air since 1988? (Merrill Reese)

SHANE STEICHEN: I did. I heard that. That’s pretty cool to be a part of that, but it’s a credit to the players and the work they’ve put in each and every week and the way they prepare. It was awesome to see. That was a good performance.

Q. What did you see specifically in QB Jalen Hurts’ growth when faced with the blitz? (Reuben Frank)

SHANE STEICHEN: He’s been awesome. The more you see, the more you play, the more experiences you have, your accelerated vision is going to pick up, and that’s what he’s been doing. It’s a credit to him and his preparation and the film study that he puts in getting ready for those things each and every week.

Q. We’ve seen different personnel packages the last couple weeks. Is that a product of TE Dallas Goedert not being here and are those things you can use when he’s back? (Dave Zangaro)

SHANE STEICHEN: I think it’s a both and. I think you always want to be creative with your personnel and getting guys in different spots, whether it’s with personnel or just putting guys in different spots to switch up the looks. That’s what we want to do.

Q. You’ve been around a lot of good quarterbacks. Typically, when you take shots, you might be taking chances, too, but it seems like QB Jalen Hurts has been able to make those big plays down the field, not turn the football over. How difficult is that tight rope? (John McMullen)

SHANE STEICHEN: Well, I think the biggest thing is you have to play what you see, and that’s what he does. If you get a one-on-one opportunity, and we have the players that we do with [WR DeVonta Smith] Smitty and [WR] A.J. [Brown] on the outside, we like those match-ups. He’s going to give those guys a chance. We have to be calculated with when we call the shots, and then if it’s not there, he’s got to be able to check it down, which he did a heck of a job last week doing that.

Q. Head Coach Nick Sirianni had mentioned that QB Jalen Hurts will dip into a coaches’ meeting on Tuesday at night if he’s still in the building. What’s your perspective on that and how rare it is and what you see? (Tim McManus)

SHANE STEICHEN: Again, it’s his preparation. He’s a grinder. If you want to be the best, you have to prepare the right way. A guy that I’ve talked about this early in the season, he doesn’t leave the building; whether it’s 9:00 at night, 10:00 at night, he’s here. He doesn’t stop. I think when you’re obsessed with your craft, you’re going to be really good at what you do, and that’s what he does. He’s obsessed with what he does, and he wants to be the best, and he keeps grinding away every single week.

Q. What’s he trying to get out of that, like a Tuesday night meeting? What’s the interaction like, and how long will he be in there? (Tim McManus)

SHANE STEICHEN: He comes in, he’ll come into our meeting and then he’ll get with [Quarterbacks coach] Brian [Johnson] and they’ll talk about stuff, all those little different things, what’s in the game plan throughout the day, and we go from there; how are they playing defensively, what are we thinking. There are all those little details that go into it, so when he comes in here Wednesday, he’s got a good idea of what we’re getting done.

Q. Did you identify an issue for all the pre-snap penalties? (Jeff McLane)

SHANE STEICHEN: You know what, I’m going to keep that in house, but I’ll take that as coaches. We have to get that cleaned up. We can’t have that. We haven’t had that this year, but to have as many as we did, we can’t do that. We can’t beat ourselves, so we have to get that cleaned up in a hurry.

Q. Since TE Dallas Goedert has been out, you’ve kind of found some things in the offense that weren’t there like throwing to TE Jack Stoll, throwing to the running back Sunday. I think they were more involved than they have been. We’ve seen WR Quez Watkins play more and be more involved. Do you feel like these are things even when Dallas comes back, do you feel like you have more at your disposal now? (Reuben Frank)

SHANE STEICHEN: Yeah, absolutely. When someone goes down, everyone has got to step up, and as coaches you’ve got to be creative in putting guys in different spots and then those guys got to go execute the plan, which they’ve been doing a heck of a job at. I love the group because everyone is so selfless, and it’s all about winning.

We threw it, I don’t know, 39 times, and it was just like, let’s keep it throwing it. Like offensive line guys were like, let’s go, we’re protecting well and we’re throwing it and we’re completing balls; let’s keep doing what we’re doing and go from there, so it was good.

Q. Is there anything that WR A.J. Brown has done this year that kind of surprise you, just catches he made, like the one off the guy’s back. (Martin Frank)

SHANE STEICHEN: No, nothing surprises me with him. He’s an elite player. Very fortunate that we got him. Great job by [Executive Vice President/General Manager] Howie [Roseman] getting that done. He’s made so many big plays this year and we’ve got to continue to do that. He’s been awesome.

Q. What kind of benefit does that give to the whole offense knowing you can just throw it up there and chances are he’s going to get it? (Martin Frank)

SHANE STEICHEN: Yeah, no, it’s pretty nice when you’ve got a player that can go get it like he does and along with the other guys that we’ve got, it’s an advantage for us for sure.

Q. When you’re calling a game either against the Packers or Titans when you’re so heavy run or pass and it’s working, how does that work in your mind? Are you thinking we have to get to the other aspect of the game or are you just happy to ride it out? (Dave Zangaro)

SHANE STEICHEN: I think within the flow of a game, you have an idea how you want it to play out, but each and every week it could be different, and if something is working, stay with it. Stay with it, and that’s how it went against the Titans, and we were throwing it good, and we kept throwing it.

Q. When you think back to this time last year you guys weren’t throwing it well. What’s the biggest difference in the offense now? Is it WR A.J. Brown’s presence, QB Jalen Hurts development? (Zach Berman)

SHANE STEICHEN: I think it’s a little bit of everything. Year two in the system, right, just the progression [QB] Jalen [Hurts] has made. You add [WR] A.J. Brown, [WR] DeVonta [Smith] is in his second year, [TE] Dallas Goedert is growing up. All these guys, you start playing together, you get more comfortable with things, and I think that’s what it is. I think guys are just gelling together. Things are clicking and guys are seeing it well, and we’re playing good football.

Q. Do you have a favorite play that QB Jalen Hurts made from that game? (Bo Wulf)

SHANE STEICHEN: I think the play of the game was the [WR] A.J. Brown catch, but it started up front with the protection part. They brought blitz and [RB] Miles [Sanders] picked up the blitz, we fanned out to the other guy and we got the one-on-one on the outside. It was a great team effort on that play.

Q. I’m not sure if you saw the comments, but WR A.J. Brown said he wasn’t expecting that ball to come, and QB Jalen Hurts said he tells his guys to be ready and that he can throw to them at any time. At what point did you know the ball was going to A.J.? (Zach Berman)

SHANE STEICHEN: Right when he took his drop and I saw that he was one-on-one on the outside, I thought there was a good chance it was getting sent there, and it did.
