Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (Post-Game Transcript)
On confidence never wavering and how this win felt for the team:
“It was just good to come out here and find a way to win the game.”
On the emotion that he showed after his third touchdown pass:
“It was just a natural reaction.”
On finding an identity and whether he thinks they got closer to finding that today:
“I think it was just a step today. You have to treat every game individually and treat every day individually in pursuit of our best self.”
On the process of the play during the 3rd-and-12 quarterback draw:
“I didn’t audible to it. I just executed the play as it was called.”
On the defensive performance and playing complimentary football:
“It’s great. A great defensive performance. I don’t think that’s something that you can dismiss or undervalue, [to] not look forward, to give up 75 total yards of offense and lead the game with a goose egg on the board. You couldn’t ask for anything more. So, glad we were able to compliment them on the other side of the ball today.”
On TE Dallas Goedert being utilized similarly compared to earlier in the season:
“That’s [a] [Eagles Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo] KP question.”
On his fourth quarter touchdown following a hit the previous play:
“Just shook it off and came back and responded the next play.”
On the backups playing in the fourth quarter with the short week:
“I think it’s just most valuable to win the game. I’m happy we won.”
On whether he thought about his message last week and that it’s about how you respond:
“Absolutely.”
On how he responded:
“We responded with a win, so we have to continue to stack those one week at a time, one day at a time.”
On if the quarterback design runs helped with the success in the second half:
“Just think the flow of how it went every week is the same in terms of going out there and trying to execute what’s called. That’s just how the cookie crumbled today.”
On Eagles DE Brandon Graham’s sacks:
“Awesome. Awesome, awesome. Two of them at his age and being able to come back. I think someone like Brandon, he serves more value than just his presence and his leadership. He’s still a hell of a player, and I’m glad he’s able to feel that personally for himself and set the tone in a way for our team.”
On the success of the offense today:
“It’s just one week at a time. Every week it’s been one week at a time. That doesn’t change, so not too high, not too low with it. Just want to continue to try to improve in the direction that produces wins.”
On the wind on the field today:
“I mean, you’d have to check the radar to see. I don’t know. It’s windy enough.”
On if the wind played a factor in the passing game having to run the ball more:
“Yeah, it’s not throwing inside, so it has some wind out there, some gusts. What does the number say? 23 [miles per hour]. So, that’s how windy it was.”
On the team having multiple windy games:
“I don’t think it was bad luck. It’s just how the games have gone. It’s never affected us and it never affected me in that way for six years. We’ve had some where it has affected it more. It’s about making adjustments to go out there and defeat all circumstances in front of you.”
On if he felt similarities between today’s game versus last year’s Week 15 game:
“No. No.”
On if he’s aware that everyone in the locker room is watching how he responds:
“Everybody’s watching. It just comes with it and it hasn’t changed. I think everybody needs to remember where I come from and how I’m built. I just want to lead in the right way, set the right example. I’ve done the same thing since I went to University of Alabama and everything that has been in front of me, so it’s no different now.”
On if he learned anything from the losses going into today’s game:
“Yes, I’ve learned a lot from all the losses. I’ve learned a lot from all the victories. I think a special one usually has a favor and this feel of discernment, feeling of good faith and belief in work. Seeing how things can end and just wanting to walk out that vision and walk out that belief that I had one game at a time, one day at a time. It’s just a step in that direction. Not barriers, it’s just bumps in the road. It’s about how you respond to it, step over it and overcome.”
