Giants QB Drew Lock (Post-Game Transcript)
On the windy and cold conditions while playing against Philadelphia’s defense:
“I felt like the operation was smooth today. There were a couple of false starts by us [offensively] because of those moves and jumps and shifts and yelling ‘go’ at the line. No excuse, but a couple of things there. And we had trouble really early on getting it going. But we came out in the second half and played some pretty good football. It was a weird game. Weird.”
On how important it was for him to get WR Malik Nabers the Giants single-season record for receptions:
“I wasn’t aware of that. But good for him. That’s cool.”
On whether the focus after the game was on today’s game or the season as whole:
“Just this week’s one game. We’ll get to the season as a whole tomorrow probably.
We’re disappointed in the loss here in the last one, but that’s football. You’ve got to press on and keep moving forward.”
On why he felt that it was a weird game:
“You just felt like it. You come out and you’re – the best way I can put it is that it’s like when you’re playing hoops. You’re kind of just getting in your own way. You feel like you should be playing better, feel like we should be up, feel like we should be going. Sooner or later, it kind of started rolling a little bit for us, but by then it was just too late. We just couldn’t get it done, but it felt like it was there for us today.”
On whether the final game of the regular season feels strange because you know that the season is over:
“Oh, it’s always weird, especially when you go on in years. It’s always weird. There’s no guarantee. Treat every day like it. Whether you’re on a four year, three year, or two year, you treat every snap like it could be your last. You have to treat it that way. I definitely treat it that way, and I appreciate this organization for letting me come out here and play. It’s a blessing to step on the field everyday.”
