Panthers QB Bryce Young (Post-Game Transcript)
On getting used to the MVP chants:
“Again, just super grateful for the support. All the Panthers fans being able to be out here all the way in Philly and feeling the support. We all show that. We all feed off of that. Whether it’s here or there, the support for all of us is huge. We’re super grateful for everyone, and we’re going to keep working.”
On connecting with Panthers TE Tommy Tremble and what he means to the offense:
“I mean, he’s a huge part. He’s such a high-level player throughout the week. He does such a great job of just working, being in the right spots, [and] keeping his head down. I was super happy for him. He does so much of the dirty work that maybe doesn’t show up on a box score, and if you’re just flipping through the game, you’re not going to see [it], but he’s huge for us. I was super excited for him to get to the end twice.
On frustration at the lack of a timeout call at the half:
I’m a competitor, and I always want the ball and always want to be aggressive, and that’s why you have coaches. Those guys see the bigger picture; they’re able to take the, maybe, emotion out of it. Then we ended up winning. They made the right call. It’s nothing but love. You always have that competitive fire. We’re always going back, but I have so much respect, obviously, for our coaching staff. We have that relationship where we can go in and talk, and then we come back in, discuss it quickly, turn the page, and go back. So just competitiveness, but I trust those guys to always make
On getting back into a rhythm after the penalties:
“That’s something that’s not our standard of ball. I’m super proud of the team for overcoming it. The defense all night, doing a great job. They kept sending us up, and [as] you said, the penalty yards were way too high. We know that right now [and] we’re enjoying the win, but we come back in and watch tomorrow. We know there’s a lot of stuff we have to clean up. Obviously, we don’t want to get into a habit of that, but we found a way today, which is great. I’m so proud to see that. I’m excited for us to clean that up.”
On the importance of winning after a bye and on the road:
“It was big. We wanted to make sure that we could come back and recapture, reestablish. And we have a ton of respect for this organization, obviously a hostile environment whenever you come here. So, I’m super proud of the team, super proud of the way that we found a way when we finished. Again, a ton to clean up, and then we’re going to celebrate it. We’ll flush it, and we got you on the page.”
On the team’s second half play:
“Obviously, those guys have a ton of respect for the guys that we just played, and just everyone in this league plays at a high level. So, you’re never able to tell, but for us, we want to make sure we’re closing our way. Especially at the end, we want to finish on our terms. Seeing it come to life today was great against a really good unit. We have to make sure that we’re consistent with that. We have to make sure that we’re chasing that, and that’s our standard. But I was again so proud of the guys up front, so proud of two of the tight ends, the receivers in the run game. Again, whenever you’re able to finish the victory formation, I’m always really proud.”
On the penalties and whether today’s win was an ugly win:
“Coach just said that in front of all of us. There’s no such thing as an ugly win. Do we know that there’s tons of stuff for us to go back and clean up, stuff for us to improve on, stuff for us to look in the mirror tomorrow when we get back to work? 100%. But a win is a win and this week, you can’t take that for granted. We found a way; that’s always the most important thing. It’s always more fun to clean stuff up on the winning end, but that doesn’t take the urgency away from having to make sure that we get things corrected and that we’re better than next week.
On the play with Panthers WR Jalen Coker in the backfield:
“Yeah, credit goes to Jalen for just being a guy that is versatile. How you can go out, you can be in the backfield and be able to run a route out of the area and move around and he does so much for us. Great job from the O-line, just sensing the pressure, then doing a great job picking it up and then just trusting my guy and being able to buy a little bit more time. He did a great job of doing that in a really big moment. There’s no surprise that that’s the type of player he is.”
